Being commensal with community characteristics, street markets in Hong Kong have been developed and diversified in themes with seasonal practices. It is not only empowering employment and business start-up, but also benefits to growing a sustainable and diversified economy. From prosperity of street market to its decline, to recent the Government introduces modern food truck and promotes street vendors across districts, development of street market stirs discussion in civil society. The seminar invites field practitioners and stakeholders to share on the experiences in organizing street market, to explore on its value and future development through discussion.
